Lake Jennings

We hiked Lake Jennings today.  It was 93 degrees, but fortunatley there was a breeze.  The distance we went was about 6.2 miles and for the most part it was flat.  In August we are hoping to go backpacking inthe San Jacinto area close to Palm Springs.  I am really looking forward to that experience.

Valley Truck Trail

On June 17, I took a hike near our house called Valley Truck Trail.  It was a decent hike, but too close to some homes.

We had a Europe reunion party at Pat & Alma's in Pine Valley.  Several of us went o  a walk, some would call it "walk"....I choose to call it a hike since they live in the boondocks.

Iron Mountain

Today I hiked Iron Mountain in Poway.  It's a 6.8 mile hike up 1,050'.  It was a tough hike for me, but fortunately it was only 88 degrees.  The last time I tried this hike it was over 100 degrees and I could only do about 3.5 miles.  During the descent down the mountain there were some weird multi-colored clouds in the sky that reminded me of the northern lights.....truly an awesome sight!

Mission Trails Equestrian Trail

Today I went on a 2 mile hike at the Mission Trails Equestrian Park.  It was an ok trail, but not challenging enough.  Tomorrow I am going to to get to the top of Iron Mountain.  It's a tough trail,  fingers crossed I make it!

Welcome to my  newest Blog which will focus on the hiking trails around San Diego (perhaps other areas.)  These pictures are of the 3 mile hike I went on this morning at Torrey Pines in La Jolla.  San Diego is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in the world!
